Edpuzzle Earns ESSA Tier 2 Status
Study finds Edpuzzle predicts and improves math standardized test scores
San Francisco, CA: The Math Edpuzzle Originals have been awarded Tier 2 for meeting the educational impact criteria of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This prestigious ranking signifies the interactive learning platform’s proven effectiveness in enhancing grade-level learning outcomes with its premium math content.
“When we first created Edpuzzle, as a teacher, it was simply about helping my own students succeed,” said Quim Sabrià, CEO and co-founder of Edpuzzle. “What began as a small spark in my classroom has grown into something far bigger: a tool teachers love and rely on every single day. Seeing that journey has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. That’s why this ESSA Tier II recognition means so much. It’s not just research confirming Edpuzzle’s impact, it’s validation of the trust and belief that teachers and schools have placed in us from the very beginning.”
Added Rachel Schecter, Ph.D., and founder of LXD Research, “When product designers leverage learning sciences to design and evaluate their programs, educators can better target instruction, and students’ skills soar.”
Key findings of the LXD Research study include:
- Students with a high usage of Edpuzzle Original math videos scored significantly higher on the CAASPP Math state standardized assessment.
- These higher scores represent 2.5 months of additional learning gains.
- Grades on Edpuzzle assignments strongly predicted state test scores, proving they effectively gauge student mastery.
The sample used in the study included 12,703 students in grades 3-5 from a large, diverse California school district during the 2024-25 school year. Read the full study to learn more.
